OTTERLY ADORABLE
Sea otters are famously adorable. They hold hands when they sleep and they are one of the only
animals that use tools to get their food – imagine one using a rock to pr y open a clam!
Sady, these furballs are endangered. There used to be many of them in places like Alaska
and the nor thern Pacific region, but today, few remain. In the past, people used to hunt them for
their thick fur. They are now protected, but oil spills and the ef fects of climate change continue to
decrease their numbers.
