leadership of Schaeffler Group’s
newly-established E-Mobility
business division on April 1,
- He will report to Matthias Zink,
CEO, Automotive OEM, Schaeffler
Group.
Schröder is joining the Schaeffler
Group from Valeo Siemens
eAutomotive GmbH, where he
was a member of the executive
management responsible for global
R&D activities. Before that he had
a career of more than 15 years at
BMW, during which he held various
management positions in areas such
as system design and advanced
engineering of electric drivetrains,
and vehicle energy management.
“We are very pleased to welcome
Schröder to our company, and we
are sure that his years of experience
in the different fields of electric
mobility will provide the perfect
basis to lead successfully our new
E-Mobility business division and thus
help shape mobility for tomorrow”,
Zink said.
Schaeffler has tied all products and
system solutions for hybrid and
purely battery-driven vehicles with
the new E-Mobility business division
in its Automotive division. It is based
in Bühl, where the Group has its
Automotive headquarters.

appointed Suresh Chettiar
as Business Head of Volvo
Buses South Asia and Vice
President Volvo Bus Corporation.
He was the Chief Operating Officer
(COO) for the region. He replaces
VRV Sriprasad, who has opted for
early retirement.
“I am happy to welcome Suresh to
this role. Suresh brings with him over
two decades of Volvo Bus and Volvo
Group experience, having held senior
leadership roles across functions.
I thank Sriprasad for having led the
organisation with distinction over
the past four years and wish him the

In a career spanning over two
decades with Volvo Group in the
Indian bus and commercial vehicle
industry, Suresh has held senior
leadership roles across functions at
Volvo Buses in India, and managed
the successful introduction of
Volvo Group’s UD branded buses
in India.

Suresh Is Business Head Of Volvo Buses South Asia

ia Motors India (KMI) has
appointed Kookhyun Shim
as Managing Director and
Chief Executive Officer. He
will have to oversee the expansion
of KMI and the construction of its
first manufacturing facility in India,
and achieve its projected timeline
and schedule of operations. He will
also help strengthen the company’s
position in the fifth largest global
automotive market with a projected
investment of US$ 1.1 billion.
Shim, 58, brings over 30 years
experience in the automotive
industry to his new role, having
most recently served as Head of Kia
Motors Manufacturing Georgia Plant
Coordination Group. Prior to this,
he was the lead coordinator of Kia
production in Slovakia.

appointment of Kookhyun Shim as

India as a major market with huge
potential for our world-class cars. We
are confident that Shim’s leadership
will provide the direction we need
to grow our presence in what is
