MAY 5 Youth Fishing Camp Teach your kids to fish
and they just might feed you for a lifetime—or
at least they’ll thank you for the opportunity to
learn a lifelong skill. With help from Evergreen
Trout Unlimited’s expert members, aspiring an-
glers will learn fly-fishing basics, such as proper
techniques for rod handling, casting, and fly
tying. After spending the day catching trout at

MAY 10 Mystery of the Golden Mustache Your
tykes will transform into junior detectives as they
enter the Mystery Mansion for this interactive
show. When leading man DeMille’s golden mus-
tache goes missing, a devious cast of characters,
including DeMille’s photographer, J.J., quickly
become suspects. Your tiny sleuths will search
the room for clues, listen to the characters give
their testimonies, and work together to help
the head detective solve this imaginative crime.

October, broad-tailed hummingbirds flock
to North Cheyenne Cañon Park, outside of
Colorado Springs, drawn to the open space’s
thousands of wildflowers. The Starsmore Visi-
tor and Nature Center wants to give you an
up-close look at these brilliantly colored birds.
During this festival, guests can learn about
the animals’ migration patterns, hike through
a portion of the park with certified interpre-
tive guides, and make feeders that attract
the nectar-obsessed creatures to their own
