This one-of-a-kind
piece from Vortic’s
Boston line features
parts from a 1912
Waltham pocket watch.
Over the past three years, the Red Rocks Hall of Fame has
presented each of its inductees, including Jimmy Buffett and
Jackson Browne, with a gift: a bespoke watch, crafted by
Fort Collins’ Vortic Watch Company, in exchange for decades of timeless performances.
And now you can own a stage-worthy, Colorado-made timepiece too. For the 2018
season, which gets into full swing this month with a performance by X Ambassadors
(May 3) and a Prince tribute show (May 10), Vortic collaborated with the iconic music
venue to craft about 20 Red Rocks Limited Edition timepieces ($1,495) modeled after
those given to star performers. The watch—available at the Red Rocks store, Hyde
Park Jewelers, and the Vortic online shop—features a 46 mm, 3-D-printed titanium
case, a custom metal dial face laser-engraved with the Red Rocks logo, and mechanical
timekeeping components extracted from antique American-made pocket watches. So
even if you’re not a hall of fame musician, you can look like one. —KERRIE FLANAGAN
