The Salim family increased its
ownership of the bank from 17% to
51% in May. The bank is working to
develop e-banking features for the
Web and mobile phones.

Anthoni’s sister Mira Salim
founded this trading com-
pany in 2001 to distribute
Indonesian food in Hong
Kong and China, includ-
ing Indofood’s Supermi
noodles.

While the Salim family gave
up running Bank Central Asia
in 1998, Anthoni owns a 1.76%
stake worth nearly $700 mil-
lion. The bank is controlled by
the Hartonos, the country’s
richest family.

Singapore-listed bread maker has
plants in Malaysia and the Philippines
and processes pork in Australia.
Anthoni’s brother Andree Halim is
deputy group managing director and
the largest shareholder, just over 50%.

The listed firm runs Indomaret,
the country’s largest mini-mart
chain; Sari Roti (largest bread
maker); and has a stake in KFC
restaurant franchise in Indone-
sia. Salim has 58% stake.

Anthoni Salim owns 74% of
this company, whose assets
include a 52% stake in Indo-
mobil Sukses Internasional;
it assembles and sells Audi,
Nissan, Renault and other
auto brands in Indonesia.
