WHO’S MOVING WHERE...


„ STANDARD CHARTERED has appointed Abrar
Anwar as Malaysia CEO, effective November 1.
Anwar was most recently CEO for Bangladesh at
the emerging-markets lender.
He has 26 years of corporate and investment
banking experience across Bangladesh, India
and the UK.
He previously worked at ANZ Grindlays Bank,
which StanChart later acquired.
He will replace Mahendra Gursahani, who is
leaving the bank.


„ CITIGROUP has hired Kris Hopkins as head of
futures execution for Singapore.
He reports to Kevin Zolkiewicz, Asia Pacific head
of futures execution.
Hopkins was previously with Bank of America
Merrill Lynch.


„ BAKER & MCKENZIE has hired Duncan McGrath as
partner for its Sydney office.
McGrath was with Gilbert + Tobin, where
he specialised in debt capital markets,
securitisation and leveraged finance.
He was previously with Allens Arthur Robinson,
the precursor to Allens, as well as Allen & Overy
and Goldman Sachs.


„ Kevin Bush, a veteran senior banker at UBS^
in Sydney, is leaving at the end of the year to
pursue other opportunities.
Bush, who joined UBS in 1999, has been running


the financing solutions team for Asia Pacific
since 2013.
He was previously head of leveraged and
acquisition finance for Australia and New
Zealand since 2003.

„ Andy Yung has left the loan syndication team
at HSBC in Hong Kong.
Yung joined in January 2015 as associate
director and was mainly responsible for the
distribution of Hong Kong and China syndicated
loans.
Before that, he had worked for Credit Agricole
for more than four years. He also had stints at
Hang Seng Bank and Citic Ka Wah Bank.

„ ING BANK has hired Eddy Henning as head
of corporate client coverage for transaction
services and head of corporate finance for Asia,
effective January 1.
He succeeds Manuel Salak, who retired in July
after 23 years with the bank. He will be based in
Singapore.
Henning joins from Deutsche Bank, where
he spent 28 years, most recently as head of
coverage for multinational corporations in Asia
Pacific.

„ DBS BANK has hired Taimur Baig as chief
economist and managing director for group
research.
He reports to Timothy Wong, MD and head of

DBS group research.
He is a replacement for the retiring David
Carbon.
Baig joins from the Monetary Authority of
Singapore, where he worked for the last six
months as principal economist. He spent 10
years at Deutsche Bank, rising to the position of
chief economist for Asia.

„ Michael Stock has left as CREDIT SUISSE’s head
of investment banking for Australia and New
Zealand.
Regional CEO John Knox has taken over day-to-
day management of the business in addition to
his current responsibilities.
Stock’s departure comes less than two years
after he joined from rival UBS.
Credit Suisse hired Simon Cox as co-head of
equity capital markets for Australia from the
same bank at around the same time.

„ UNICREDIT has appointed Bryan Ho as deputy
head of financial institutions and global
transaction banking for the Asia-Pacific region.
Ho, who will be based in Hong Kong, reports to
Holger Frank, head of FIG and GTB for APAC. He
joins from Credit Agricole, where he was head of
FIG for Greater China. He previously worked at
Standard Chartered and HSBC.
The Italian bank has also made Yasuhiro
Watanabe global account manager for Asian
multinational companies in Tokyo. In his new
position, he will report to Kiyoharu Michiwaki,
Tokyo branch manager, and Michele Amadei,
