Brazilian-born angel investor, who cofounded Facebook
and moved to Singapore five years ago after renouncing his
U.S. citizenship, is now the island-nation’s second-richest
resident. Shares of the social media giant, in which he holds
a minority stake, were up by close to a third in the past year,
adding $2.1 billion to his wealth. Saverin is busy backing
tech entrepreneurs in the U.S. and Asia through his two

venture capital firms, Velos Partners and B Capital Group.
In June, B-Cap invested $22.5 million in U.S. retail startup
Inturn. It also led funding rounds of $25 million each in
Asia’s online health insurance firm CXA Group and Icertis, a
U.S. provider of contract management software. Other bets:
Singapore’s Ninja Van as well as Indonesia’s Orami,
an online shopping site for women.
