The Important Watches auction, held by Sotheby’s Geneva witnessed a
number of exclusive timepieces, a rare, limited edition timepiece from
IWC Schaffhausen being among those being auctioned. The Pilot’s
Watch Chronograph Edition ‘The Last Flight’, created in commemoration
of Antoine de Saint-Exupèry’s last flight 70 years ago, went under the
hammer for CHF 40,000. The entire proceeds of this auction will benefit
the Antoine de Saint-Exupèry Youth Foundation, which will use them to
provide financial support to a children’s hospital in Brazil. “This auction
is a part of our company’s social responsibility and a reinforcement of
the humanist values championed by the famous French pilot and writer,”
commented Georges Kern, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen.

Setting a benchmark in the art of
hairdressing, L’Orèal Professionnel held the
annual Indian Hairdressing Awards (IHA)
in New Delhi and awarded the efforts of

Setting glamorous records
Ishika Taneja, international beauty expert and
Executive Director of Alps beauty clinic has
earned laurels by setting a Guinness World Record
in the fastest airbrushing makeup. In 60 minutes,
she swiftly managed to apply airbrush makeup
on 60 models, with just three colours and using
only the airbrush equipment. Held at DLF Emporio
New Delhi, Lucia Sinigagliesi, Guinness World
Record official adjudicator, was also present at
the event and verified the accuracy of the record
setting attempt. She also made a touching gesture
by dedicating her award to Nirbhaya, a victim
of the 2012 gang-rape incident. Moreover, the
entire fund raised during the event will go to the
Nirbhaya Jyoti Trust.
