This photo art installation that remembers the
Bhopal Union Carbide disaster – also referred to
as the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, a gas leak incident
in India, considered the world's worst industrial
disaster – has travelled far and wide, garnering
over 150,000 walk-throughs of the 12-metre
container that houses the installation.
Samar S Jodha’s photo-installation is a
striking documentation, which contributes to the
perpetuation of the memory of an apocalyptic
event, where over 500,000 people were exposed to
methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas and other chemicals.

In Nepal, 63 percent of the population lack access
to reliable electricity. Traditional energy sources are
highly polluting for the environment. Lack of access
to electricity prevents access to quality healthcare,
education, water and services that are fundamental
to alleviation of poverty and improved quality of life.
We all have a fundamental right to reliable energy
and clean water. Raising awareness on the issue of
energy poverty is photographer Kristin Lau’s main
priority and this project's mission.

Through a partnership with SunFarmer, a non-
profit initiative focused on delivering solar power
to developing countries through the installation
of affordable and reliable solar energy systems,
Kristin returns to Nepal to build awareness around
energy access issues. SunFarmer’s goal is to
power 4,000 clinics, schools and water projects,
impacting seven million lives by 2020.
