THE BACK END | READER’S RIDE

HONDA CRF250R

WHYI BOUGHT IT
Having been off the bike for the last few years due
to injury and sporting commitments, it was time to
get back on the horse. I’ve always been a Honda
guy so it seemed fitting to buy another one. There’s
no better feeling in the world than getting a few
mates together and having a crack.

WHATI DID TO IT
Being heavier than the average rider, my first
point of call was SPMX in Seaford to tweak the
suspension. If you’re a beginner through to a pro
they can help you achieve the best performance
out of your machine. It makes a world of difference
being able to feel comfortable on the bike.
The graphics are by The Collective Family. There’s
an RHK bling kit including wide footpegs, DID
heavy-duty gold chain, black anodised rear sprocket
and Topline seatcover.

HOWDOES IT GO
The bike has more than enough power to cart my big
butt around the track and that’s saying something!
I’m very happy with the stock engine for 2015. Any
rider would feel comfortable to hop on and go for it.
Having had the suspension set up for myself makes
the power of the bike very usable.

WOULDI RECOMMEND IT
Hondas are renowned as being the best handling
bike. It doesn’t matter what level rider you are, the
bike feels comfortable right out of the box. Having
ridden Hondas my whole life I felt right at home
with the whole ergonomics of the bike.
Last year Honda introduced the three different
map settings which alter the performance of the
bike to cater to a wide variety of riders and tracks,
which is a really cool feature.
