THE NEWLY FORMED VALUE ALLIANCE consists of eight LCC
airlines from the Asia-Pacific region: Scoot (Singapore), Tigerair
Singapore, Tigerair Australia, Nok Air (Thailand), NokScoot
(Thailand), Cebu Pacific (Philippines), Jeju Air (South Korea) and
Vanilla Air (Japan).
Customers will be able to view, select and book the best-available
airfares on flights from any of the airlines in a single transaction,
directly from each member’s website.
Passengers will also be able to select a full suite of ancillary choices
from each LCC, including seat and meal selection, variable baggage
allowances and other in-flight features.
Together, the members of Value Alliance cover a third of the planet
and serve more than 160 destinations with a collective fleet of 176

CHINA AIRLINES HAS OFFICIALLY
unveiled the cabin designs of its A350,
ahead of the delivery in July.
Similarly to the B777-300ER, the A350’s
Premium Business seat will feature the
Super Diamond product by B/E Aerospace,
complete with 1-2-1 layout, 18-inch IFE
screen and personal table lamp.
Premium economy on the A350 will be
the same Zodiac AIRgo FX premium
seats found on the B777-300ER, but
will feature only seven seats (2-3-2)
instead of eight (2-4-2) in each row.
Economy class will feature a 3-3-
seating layout. Seat width will be a
comfortable 18 inches, while each seat
will also offer 116 degrees of recline and

part-owns
Hainan Airlines,
is to acquire
Carlson Hotels.
The deal,
expected to
close towards
the end of the
year, will include the transfer of Carlson Hotel’s 1,400 hotels
under seven global brands: Quorvus Collection, Radisson Blu,
Radisson, Radisson Red, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson and
Country Inn & Suites by CarlsonSM.
HNA Tourism Group will also acquire a 51.3 per cent majority
stake in the Rezidor Hotel Group.
Under Swedish law, this means the group will be required to
either launch a full takeover bid for the remaining 48.7 per cent

Carlson Hotels in buyout by
Chinese conglomerate
MALAYSIA AIRLINES HAS ANNOUNCED an “extensive redesign” of
its Golden Lounges at Kuala Lumpur International (KLIA) and London
Heathrow airports.
The revamped regional and domestic lounges at KLIA will be
unveiled later this year, with business and first class lounges at KLIA’s
Satellite terminal and at London Heathrow scheduled for completion by
the middle of next year.
New features will include a demonstration kitchen “allowing guests
to interact with chefs”, with bistro and “snack-on-the-go” options, and
fine dining in first class lounges.
Wifi services will also be upgraded, and universal power sockets
