Spouses April and Bobby Parlett faced the unthinkable when they both got cancer. After
April’s breast cancer diagnosis, she urged Bobby to schedule a checkup. That’s when doctors
discovered prostate cancer.
They received treatment from our MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute team at MedStar
Southern Maryland Hospital under the watchful eye of Andrew Satinsky, MD, clinical director
of Radiation Oncology. April‘s treatment included ZAP-X® radiosurgery, which delivers
high-dose radiation with pinpoint accuracy while protecting healthy cells and tissue. As the
first to use ZAP-X technology on the East Coast, we’re bringing new hope to cancer patients.
April and Bobby are now cancer-free and loving their newfound freedom. Bobby is grateful to
the doctors who found his cancer and said, “Now more than ever, we’ve learned to listen
to our body, which saved our lives.”
