Testament to its seat of importance in
Japanese heritage, Kamakura is home to

heritage sites. The Kamakura Daibutsu
(meaning Great Buddha Statue) is one
such famous cultural gem that can be
found in Kamakura. Situated in the
Kotokuin Temple, this 13.35m Buddha
statue is the second tallest bronze
Buddha statue in Japan (second to the
Buddha statue in Todaiji Temple, Nara).
