REVIEW OF THE MONTH

QUЄNG NINH, VIETNAM

Wyndham Legend

Halong Bay

WHY QUҦNG NINH?
The coastal province of northeast Vietnam is home to Halong Bay,
the UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its lime karts islets that
number in the thousands. While Halong Bay has always been a
popular attraction, the surrounding provincial town is also gaining
more attention from tourists who are interested in seeking a
slower-paced Vietnam brimming with unmarked natural beauty
and local culture.

WHY WYNDHAM LEGEND HALONG BAY?
Located on the coastline of Bai Chay, the Wyndham Legend Halong
Bay faces stunning views of the Halong Bay and Bai Chay Bridge. It is
also the first five-star hotel by a global chain in Quҧng Ninh and
features the modern comforts and amenities travellers have come to
expect of a chain like Wyndham.

WHAT’S MY ROOM LIKE?
The hotel comprises 217 guest rooms, including a luxurious Penthouse
Suite. The contemporary Deluxe Room shapes in ergonomic and intuitive
design. The Deluxe Room also has a fully equipped en suite bathroom
with the works – a spacious bathtub with separate shower and enough
bath salts for long relaxing soaks. To top it of, all Deluxe Rooms also
feature a panoramic window with balcony that overlooks Halong Bay.

WHAT AM I EATING?
Satiate hunger at one of six diverse dining and bar venues.
Apart from Vietnamese and international cuisines available at
the all-day restaurant, Blue Bay, the hotel also has an Italian
establishment at De Medici and the first authentic Japanese
restaurant in the area at Sakura. Kick back and enjoy gourmet
teas and coffee at La Terrasse Café and Bar, or take the edge off
with a cocktail at Vivino Bar and the Pool Bar.

BEYOND THE FRONT DOOR
An obvious choice would be to take a cruise around Halong Bay
and there are many operators that offer half-day and even
overnight cruises that include stops at some islets and caves for
exploring as well. For a different view of Halong Bay, take a
seaplane with Hai Au Aviation for an exhilarating ride of a bird’s
eye view of this spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Apart from Halong Bay, Bai Chay also has a number of other
attractions, such as the Sun World Ha Long Park and cable car
station. The town is also rich in culture and short walks from the
hotel will bring guests to local markets and hole-in-the-wall
eateries.
