elcome to the third issue of
Asian Restaurateur, firstly we
would like to thank East End
Foods for taking the first step to become
one of our sponsors for 2017. With an
independent publication without the
support of sponsors it would be difficult
for magazine to develop and continue.

The staffing issue the industry is facing
continues into the new year and will for
a long while, however as experts you
have to help initiatives, we spoke to a
number of colleges which all want to
support training of young chefs, however
colleges can’t do this on their own they
need government funding plus your
experience but must of all they need
an interest in people to take up the
positions at the colleges!

As businesses we should always strive
to provide our customers with what they
desire but also present them with new
innovative dishes, for 2017 the hottest
trend is a reduction in meat in diets, plus
if the sector of the consumer market who
spend the most on eating out are the
young and the old you must reach out to
that age group!

There are so many industry awards
which are enjoyed for many reasons,
by invitation to the the MasterChef
Promotion awards ceremony in the
Midlands which was a great family

affair, enjoyed by all who attended, the
evening was a splendour of celebration
for the chefs and industry stakeholders
who supported the event.

We have put together a business health
check list, which owners and managers
should already have in place for
inspectors and if they aren’t then you’re
really not doing your business any justice
so check the list now!

Remember our team is merely an email
or phone call away, just arrange a
meeting, our door is open to thoughts
and proposals that you may want to us
share with us.

We look forward to seeing you next issue
and remember to sign up for our free
newsletter which will keep you up to
date between now and the next issue of
Asian Restaurateur.

Best wishes.
