You got engaged in the city of love, Paris...

Soha I was very surprised when Kunal suddenly

popped the question because it was totally

unexpected. I think he waited for me to think it

was never going to happen. But, the good thing is

that we were both very happy with where we were

in our relationship. It was the perfect location –

the Eiffel Tower. The best part was that we could

celebrate with our friends afterwards.

Kunal I am not known to be the most romantic

person, but this was the filmiest decision I have

ever made. To give you a little background, Soha

and I had been dating for almost seven years and

although we had planned to visit Paris before, it

had never happened. When it finally did happen,

I thought to myself, why not make it romantic

and propose at the Eiffel Tower? I thought it

would make for a great story.

You’ve been married for almost two years now.

How has it been so far?

Soha It’s been great because we are each others’

best friend. Before we got married, one of our fears

was that we would change and lose the romance.

Sometimes, with marriage, you start taking one

another for granted or feeling trapped. So, we

actually promised each other not to change after

marriage. That’s also why we lived together for

two years before we tied the knot. Thankfully, not

much has changed since we got married!

Kunal It’s been great. I’ve been very happy. In

the first year, it was hard for us to introduce each

other as husband and wife; I was so accustomed

to addressing Soha as my girlfriend. Marriage

hasn’t changed anything and that’s the best part,

since neither of us is a big fan of change. We both

like the set routine we have and are quite well-

adjusted to one another.

Did you follow a special beauty regimen on the

days leading up to your wedding?

Soha I made sure I got enough rest. Luckily,

our wedding was not very stressful because

we chose to have an intimate celebration. My

mother insisted that we did a dress rehearsal

before the wedding, and that was such a good

idea because there weren’t any surprises or

last minute glitches on the day.

Kunal I don’t do anything because I’m very lazy

when it comes to my hair and skin.

Each

love story is unique in its own way, and Kunal’s and Soha’s story is no

different. When the two confessed their love for each other to the world,

everyone wondered how an elegant Oxford girl and an easy-going actor got

together with such ease. In a candid chat at The Lalit Mumbai, a peaceful

oasis for business and leisure travellers, the lovely couple talks about who

popped the ‘big’ question and where, their fondest memories from their

extensive travels and experiences from around the world, how marriage hasn’t

changed the way they look at each other, their relationship, and much more.
