When did you start getting serious about
fitness? I started getting serious about 4 years
ago when a co-worker, Alyssa Hawkins, asked
me to do a bodybuilding show with her. I took
her up on the offer and entered into a Military
Bodybuilding show.

What's the first thing you do when you go to
the gym? The first thing I do when I go to the
gym takes a selfie and scope out the equipment
that is available to use. I am very flexible with my
workout routine and will make adjustments.

Do you listen to music when you work out? I
only listen to music when I am doing cardio. The
only reason why I do not listen to music while
weight training is because that is bonding time
with my husband, who is also my gym partner.

What do you listen to, to get you amped up? I
listen to gospel music or old school music. The

Dazz Band and Earth Wind and Fire get me
going. I find Disco and Funk music very enter-
taining.

How do you prepare your meals daily? On
most days my husband and I prepare all of my
meals fresh. I usually leave a detailed copy of my
meal plan on the refrigerator so that he is able to
prepare my meals. He really helps me out since
we both work and are in the Army.
