Life’s a breeze

There’s no end of things you can get up to at sea

Super yacht style
Yoga teacher Cintia Silva is
hosting retreats on the luxurious,
fast and stylish 38-metre
superyacht, Babylon. Built by
Rodriquez Yachts in Italy in 2005,
it takes up to 10 guests and seven
crew. Enjoy yoga and meditation
on the deck of the boat and in
selected locations (depending
on where the yacht sails to),
including Dubai where the yacht
is currently based. Go on, treat
yourself: the perfect combination of holiday and yoga.

Sea sanctuary
The Sea Sanctuary (seasanctuary.org.uk) i n
Falmouth has helped pioneer a unique form of mental
therapy through the ever soothing medium of the sea,
offering mental health education on a large classic
yacht, defying the convention of attending therapy
sessions in a sterile white room. In 2018, the charity
(whose patron is actress Caroline Quentin) will open a
new project, The Arc wellbeing hub, to support people
with mental health problems or in need of emotional
support. Another Cornwall group WeSUP
(weSUP.co.uk) offers stand up paddle boarding
sessions with the idea of helping people stay mentally
afloat. Long known for its therapeutic healing
properties, the sea is one of the most inspirational,
stimulating and nurturing environments for healing.

Tea at sea
Cruise and Maritime Voyages (CMV)
(cruiseandmaritime.com) has teamed
up with tea giants Whittard of Chelsea to
take its teas to the high seas. After all, what
could be a better than a nice cuppa whilst
relaxing up on deck admiring the world sail
by? Whittard (whittard.co.uk) is to supply
its teas to three CMV vessels including its
newest fleet addition, Columbus, as well as
Magellan and Marco Polo. “Our passengers
always appreciate a blend of quality and
tradition,” said Bob McGowan, CMV’s head
of customer service. Columbus – which
includes a fully equipped gym and spa – made its maiden voyage in
June from Tilbury, London to Amsterdam.
