Sue Ellisis Professor of Education at the University of Strathclyde and Co-Director of its Centre
for Education and Social Policy. She researches effective literacy teaching and policy
development, working with student teachers, qualified teachers and local policy makers on
projects that improve literacy outcomes for pupils.
