Author Biographies
Mandia Mentisis Associate Professor in the Institute of Education at Massey University, New
Zealand, where she coordinates postgraduate Inclusive Education programmes. She has worked as
a teacher and educational psychologist in primary, secondary, and tertiary settings. As co-director
of the Equity through Education centre, her research inquires into innovative practices that
promote diversity.
Alison Kearneyis Associate Professor at the Institute of Education at Massey University in New
Zealand where she teaches and researches in the areas of learning, specialist teaching, and
educational inclusion and exclusion. She is the co-director of the Equity Through Education Centre
at Massey University and editor of the New Zealand education journal, Kairaranga.
