nvironment.” Brahney
refers cof ee: “I started
o drink my cof ee black
fter doing i eldwork and
have warm, fuzzy feelings
associated with that
morning hot cup of cof ee
after a chilly evening.”
Armitage says, “Fieldwork
in Texas is usually hot, so
being hydrated is key for safety.
Water is the most important
drink of all.” She adds, “Because it’s
usually so hot in the i eld, I prefer cold
drinks—like iced cof ee!”
Shoni eld mentions a snow-
related adventure. You slide over on
the couch to hear better. Shoni eld
says, “One of the most fun ideas I
had while bored in the i eld was to
go tobogganing! I was working in
the Yukon in March, and there was
a great hill that we passed every day.
We had several sleds around camp
for hauling supplies around, yet we
had never thought to use them to go
tobogganing for fun. h e result was
a blast! Everyone in camp joined in,
and it was one of my most memorable
i eld days.”
Which reminds you that you’v
been rattling nothing but ice cu
around in your cup for a whil
for a rei ll. What will you ov
next time you’re bored he
the Left Field Café?
