Business Bay I 23

BQ French Kitchen & Bar will feature 72-hour
slow-cooked beef carved at your table and foie gras
trolley (AED650 for brunch buffet, house beverages
and bubbly).

JW MARRIOTT MARQUIS HOTEL DUBAI
The landmark towers have been synonymous with
Business Bay from the outset and together with
the three Starwood-absorbed properties, Marriott
International now boasts an unrivalled 3,212 rooms,
making it the natural choice for big groups and
conventions. Additional volume-building synergies
are provided by owner Emirates Group but Marquis
execs know they can’t rely on scale; new F&B
changes illustrate the need to stay relevant and fresh
amidst all the novelty.
WHAT’S NEW Making the most of the canal views,
Café Artois by Bridgewater Tavern is a relaxed
al fresco venue ideal for those seeking a chilled
afternoon in the sun, with casual barbecue food,
wide beer selection and a mix of picnic tables and
comfortable lounge seating. Saray Spa has launched
a men’s menu with seven “reinvigorating treatments”
for the modern man.

TAJ DUBAI
Another Indian luxury brand which has built up a
loyal following and benefited from the neighbouring
Downtown dynamic, given its proximity to Burj
Khalifa, Dubai Opera and Dubai Mall.

WHAT’S NEW Asian street food is flavour of the
month, what with Mr Miyagi’s on Level 9 of Media
One Hotel and now Miss Tess recently opening here.

THE OBEROI DUBAI
It’s hard to believe the Oberoi has been up and
running four years, yet longevity doesn’t mean
complacency, and this is one district where you need
to keep making your voice heard; in this respect,
room and F&B offers continue to target loyalists
while reaching out to newcomers.
WHAT’S NEWIts Suite Surprise package comprises
a stay in a Deluxe suite, airport transfers, breakfast
for two, early check in/late check-out (valid until
December 28). Nine7One has a Karnival Brunch
and BBQ nights on Thursdays, and for an authentic
Indian touch, Ananta has a lunch promotion inspired
by tiffin boxes.

DOUBLETREE BY HILTON DUBAI
BUSINESS BAY
General Manager Remco Werkhoven
told me “we are for the many, not the few”,
which given DoubleTree’s positioning, may not
sound remarkable, but in a district which remains
predominantly high end, it’s a point worth
reiterating – although such is the plethora of
mid-market units now being rolled out (eg Rove’s
city-wide charge), the “many” are becoming
increasingly well served.

Main: Dubai Canal
was inaugurated in
November 2016.
