24 I Business Bay

WHAT’S NEW The 238-key hotel’s arrival in Bay
Square looks a breath of fresh air and the hotel
will now be hitting its straps after opening in July.
The first PizzaExpress Live restaurant outside of
the UK combines a popular Italian menu with live
performances including music, stand-up comedy and
sport and watch out for Le Petit Belge (Belgian brews
and classic Belgian staples) which is due to open in Q4.

STEIGENBERGER HOTEL BUSINESS BAY
The Steigenberger helped set the Business Bay
hospitality wheels in motion when it opened two

years ago, and its Bay-meets-Downtown location, and
ability to blend aesthetics with functionality, are clear
attributes. It’s yet to reach its full potential though

  • I heard plans for water-based corporate events
but they’ve yet to set sail – and with new five-star
competition coming, it will need to be on its A game.
WHAT’S NEW Brothaus Bakery-Bistro is celebrating
all things German throughout October with an à la
carte menu in the week and Friday brunch. Look out
for The Secret Terrace (too much of a secret to divulge
    now, sadly).

SOUTH BAY HOTEL FROM DEYAAR
Dubai developer Deyaar launched a new Dhs1bn
mixed-use project, South Bay, in Business
Bay, during last month’s Cityscape exhibition.
The 63-storey tower will contain 133 serviced
apartments and 345 hotel units “operated by a
multinational brand” as well as 926 residences and
cover a built-up area of more than 1.3m sq ft. It
has also signed an agreement with Millennium &
Copthorne which will manage The Atria in Business
Bay (pictured above right).
