42.5% in the same period last

continuing to be the leading sell-
ing open system kit.
Sales of e-liquid refills also
reflect this shift towards open
systems with value sales up
35% year on year.

“Half of smokers have still not tried an
E-Cigarette and those that have, may not know
where to find them in every store. The biggest
barrier to purchase is low consideration driven by
poor in store visibility. Like a new product launch, highly
visible feature drives trial and future success with
shoppers.
“It is important that retailers display the category in a
place that can interrupt the smoker’s shopping journey to
make them consider and buy into the e-cig category.
Depending on the store layout, this space could be
on the gantry, next to the gantry or on the
counter, wherever the adult tobacco shopper
is most likely to look, is where
e-cigarettes should be located &
communicated.”
