Aquarientechnik was
the fi rst manufacturer to
develop a CO2-controlled
calcium reactor. Their
exciting new generation
of reactors is comprised
of two units:The Calcium Automat 3171 is
suitable for cabinet systems
and aquariums up to 1,
litres (317 US gal) with a
granulate capacity of 1.85 litres
(0.4 US gal).The Calcium Automat 3172
is for cabinet systems and
aquariums with volumes of
2,000 litres (528 US gal) and
more (depending on the coral
population). It has a granulate
capacity of 10 litres (2.6 US gal)
and an especially high degree
of effi ciency.All models are self-priming,
(which considerably simplifi es
operation), and water
throughput is adjusted
preceding the granules thus
keeping fl ow constant over
time. All devices contain a
system for re-absorption of
undissolved gases and thus
consume very little CO2.Both models use a wide
opening cover and contain
a special connection for an
internal pH probe. The Calcium
Automats are the only reactors
on the market using a special
mixing gyro from skimmer
technology to ensure perfect
CO2 mixing.3171
