Original Pilgrim In Bikaner, Rajasthan,
a temple that lies along a network of
caves is frequented by locals to off er
prayers to their gods. However, the
original inhabitants of this labrynth,
a colony of mouse-tailed bats, have
resisted eviction and continue to live
alongside the visiting faithful. This
gorgeous frame, made by Anuroop
Krishnan using two fl ashes and a
remote trigger, freezes an individual
bat mid-fl ight, looking like some
ancient, winged, messiah.
