PREVIEW
A
utomotive Aftermarket Prod-
ucts Expo (AAPEX 2017),
the premiere global event
representing the $740 billion
global automotive aftermarket indus-
try, will feature over 2,200 exhibitors,
at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas from
October 31 to November 2, 2017.
AAPEX is co-owned by the Auto Care
Association and the Automotive After-
market Suppliers Association (AASA),
the light vehicle aftermarket products,
services and technologies division of
the Motor & Equipment Manufactur-
ers Association (MEMA).
This year the all-new automotive
technology areas will make their
debut. New partners have joined the
education line-up for the most robust
programme of the event. AAPEX 2017
is very special for reasons like new
products, opportunity to experience
technology, to learn from experts, to
expand network and to stay ahead of
the curve.
The most important reason for buyers
to attend AAPEX is to see the latest
and most innovative automotive
aftermarket products, parts, services
and technologies. With nearly 5,000
stands, they will find everything they
need for their business on the show
floor. For a closer look at what’s
new from exhibiting companies, the
buyers can visit the New Product and
New Packaging Showcases, located
in Level 2, Hall D+ of the Venetian.
Two new additions to AAPEX will let
the visitors experience automotive
technology. The new Mobility
Park, located behind the Sands
Expo Center in the parking lot,
will showcase today’s aftermarket
technology with scan tool engine
demonstrations, underhood training,
a 3D print area and electric vehicles.
The new Technology Intersection
on the show floor will provide a look
at the future. Exhibitors in this area
will have the opportunity to use an
interactive interface, such as virtual
reality and simulators, to demo
innovative automotive technology
that is not currently available in the
aftermarket.
After a successful debut in 2016,
‘Let’s Tech’ returns to AAPEX
2017 with a new line-up of short
presentations for 20-minutes or less.
Topics will include new mobile apps,
emerging vehicle technologies and
technology-driven new products.
With the 44,000 targeted buyers
expected to be in Las Vegas during
AAPEX 2017, it’s the ideal opportunity
to meet new people from around
the world and exchange ideas. In
addition, the industry’s leading
experts and trainers will be at AAPEX
to share their knowledge and connect
with attendees.
AAPEX helps the participants
and visitors keep up with the
latest technology, trends, product
developments and skills needed for
their business to stay ahead of the
curve and ahead of the competition.
According to buyers, the greatest
benefit of AAPEX is that they can
accomplish in one or two days what
otherwise would take at least two to
three weeks to get done.
AAPEXedu
Nearly 40 sessions will make up the
AAPEXedu 2017 programme. Many
sessions will focus on technology,
including telematics, connected
vehicles, Advanced Driver Assistance
Systems (ADAS), vehicle data
access, alternate fuel and drive train
options, and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V)
communication and new mobility
models.
For the first time, Northwood
University will offer sessions as part of
the AAPEXedu, while the Automotive
Service Association (ASA) and AVI will
provide technical training sessions.
The Auto Care Association and
AASA also will host sessions tailored
to each of the communities within
AAPEX. NARSA – the International
Heat Transfer Association – will offer
a programme on the latest trends and
technologies in heating and cooling
systems.
This year’s enhanced Service
Professionals Programme will feature
an all-new Service Professionals
Summit during which an expert panel
of speakers will discuss emerging
technologies facing this segment
of the industry. Carm Capriotto,
founder and host of Remarkable
Results Radio, the only podcast that
interviews today’s most inspiring and
successful automotive aftermarket
professionals, will moderate the panel
discussion on November 2, with a
reception to follow. The programme
also will feature under-the-hood
training by AVI, and a special
Advanced Vehicle Training session
by ASA.
A day-long REMANedu Conference,
which also is part of AAPEXedu, will
take place on Monday, October 30.
The Conference is a multi-faceted
education and networking forum
dedicated to remanufacturing.
