he 5th edition of Tyrexpo
India, part of the international
Tyrexpo series and India’s
only dedicated trade show
for the Tyre communities, including
players from tyre, equipment and
tools manufacturing, distributing,
wholesaling, retreading and fleet
operation, was held in Chennai from
July11 to 13, 2017.
Tyrexpo India and GarageXpo India
2017 brought together 2,017 trade
visitors and close to 80 exhibitors from
30 countries on a unifying platform
to explore innovative products and
solutions, to present updates on
developing trends, and to network
for forging valuable connections. The
inaugural GarageXpo India 2017 trade
show, held along Tyrexpo India 2017,
served as an incubator for the new
automotive repair and maintenance,
and presented new tools and ideas for
the `garage of the future.’Event highlights of the expo
included TyreTalk/GarageTalk
Seminars, Tyrexpo/GarageXpo
Technical Workshops, and the
Tyre & Rubber Industry Leadership
Acknowledgement (TRiLA) Awards
presented by Tyre Times and SingEx
to celebrate the achievements
made by the contributors to the
tyre community. The TRiLA Awards
recognised significant contributions
to India’s tyre industry in areas
of sustainability and innovation.
Nominations were for TRiLA Company
of the Year for Environment &
Sustainability, Rubber Analytical
Instruments, and Rubber Machinery
among others.
Apollo Tyres, Bridgestone Tyres and
Yokohama Tire were among the
winners. Apollo Tyres won Hatch Back
Tyre of the Year, TBR Tyre of the Year,
TRiLA Company of the Year as wellas The Best Marketing Person of the
Year Award. Yokohama Tire followed
closely with two awards including Tyre
of the Year Up Sizing and SUV Tyre
of the Year, while Bridgestone Tyres
fetched the awards of Tyre of the Year
Luxury and TRiLA Sedan Tyre of the
Ye a r.
Renowned national and international
players like BKT Tyres, LingLong
Tyres, Oriental Carbon & Chemicals
Ltd, Sarveshwari Technologies Ltd,
and the newest edition to the show:
L&T Rubber Processing Machinery,
were among the exhibitors that
showcased products, technologies
and solutions relevant to the Indian
market.
Focusing on the importance of
knowledge transfers and community
building, this year’s Tyrexpo India
partnered with renowned industry
players like China United Rubber
Corporation (co-location partner),
Frost & Sullivan (knowledge partner)
and TyreTimes (industry awards
partner). The TyreTalk & GarageTalk
seminar series, and the Tyrexpo &
GarageXpo Technical Workshop
series, once again brought to
participants the best return on
investment in terms of content,
diversity and business connections.GarageXpo India
The inaugural
GarageXpo India 2017,
held alongside Tyrexpo
India 2017, was first
introduced during
Tyrexpo Asia 2017
in March this year. It
enabled the automotive
repair and maintenancecommunity in the Indian sub-continent
to showcase the latest automotive
repair and maintenance equipment,
technologies, and trends. Attendees
from the Tyres, Automotive Repair and
Maintenance, and Tyre Accessories
could connect with existing and
new buyer groups, as well as
explore cutting-edge technologies,
products and solutions from over 80
participating exhibitors and brands in
the ecosystem.
The TyreTalk & GarageTalk seminar
series, along with the knowledge
partner Frost & Sullivan, featured
panel discussions on contemporary
issues, challenges and business
opportunities, allowing companies to
benchmark and stay ahead in today’s
business environment. Prominent
industry players including Jiangsu
SinoGran Technologies Co. Ltd.
and Sarveshwari Technologies Ltd
shared green tyre manufacturing
and development trends, as well as
tyre care and safety. The Tyrexpo
& GarageXpo Technical Workshop
series presented the latest in tyre
trends, tread patterns and techniques,
automotive repair and maintenance
techniques, and technology through
simulated environments.
Riding on the wave of opportunities
in the tyre and rubber industry in
India, the China United Rubber
Corporation signed a Memorandum
of Understanding with SingEx
Exhibitions during Tyrexpo India
2017, to officiate the co-location of
RubberTech, a leading international
exhibition series on rubber technology
and Tyre- recycling, with Tyrexpo and
GarageXpo 2018 in both India and
