elcome to the new-lookBusiness Traveller!
As you can imagine, it’s been a particularly busy month getting
everything ready for our relaunch. The redesign process has been a labour of
love by teams on three continents. We’ve gone cross-eyed analysing new
fonts; back and forth over new content; and probably a little bit loopy focusing on tiny
details... but we hope you agree the end result makes it all worthwhile.
Inside, you’ll find all your favourite features, and more: the popular “Tried &
Tested” reports have been expanded into their own section at the back, along with
practical advice to make your travels easier – on page 82, we examine how to avoid
being scammed by dynamic currency conversion.
Our topical destination reports cover redevelopment in Las Vegas (page 40) and
the technolog y of tomorrow being dreamed up in Hangzhou (page 28). We’ve kept
our serious industry analysis – on page 34 we look at the increasing trend for airline
joint ventures – and added a pinch of humour: do you agree with Derek Picot that
hotel staff should wear their tattoos with pride? Turn to page 64 to read his opinion.
And it seems fitting that as we reveal a brand-new look, our cover feature should
take on a visual theme. On page 48, “Art attack” investigates how hotels are interacting
withartonanewlevel–it’snolongerjustaboutdecoration,butaboutinspiringguests
and adding value through paintings, sculptures and more.
We hope you love the new look as much as we do – get in touch and let us know
what you think! In the meantime, have a wonderful Christmas and safe travels.
