Bobii Frutii, the popular Taiwanese bubble tea
chain that typically has queues of up to two
hours in Taipei for its photogenic fruit-infused drinks,
is coming to Singapore. The bizarrely named ('bobii' is
Taiwanese slang for tapioca pearls) two-year-old brand
has four other outlets in its native Taiwan, and China.
What makes the drinks here so special? Its bubble
tea is “layered” with ingredients such as milk, tea and
colourful pearls heaped in a cup like a pretty parfait
or a rainbow cake. The brand claims to be the first to
introduce “[tapioca] pearls with beautiful colours”.
Singapore’s franchised cafe will open at Clementi
