Xu Tao goes back to

Shanghai. When he does

not return Shuqi’s calls,

she becomes anxious and

unable to concentrate on

her work.

Zhongxing complains

about the lack of manpower.

Chen Feng helps out.

Shuqi tells Chen Feng

she intends to quit and join

Xu Tao in China. Yalong is

distressed by the news.

Unable to suppress his

feelings, he expresses

his love for Shuqi. She is

stunned, and explains that

to her, he is just a friend.

Xu Tao comes back

unexpectedly. He has

fallen out with his parents.

Returning for good, he

claims he has an opportunity

to star in a Singapore-China

movie collaboration.

Shuqi tells Xu Tao about

Yalong’s confession of love.

He wants to confront Yalong

but she stops him.

Chen Feng and Xiaoqiao

are concerned about how

Yalong is managing the

rejection. After a frantic

search, they find him near a

frangipani tree.

7.30pm Episode 52/130

Yalong falls ill. Chen Feng

is touched when Xiaoqiao

and Lianhua show their

concern for him. Shuqi is

guilt-stricken, and Xiaoqiao

advises her to have a talk

with him.

The stock market

plunges. Dazhi’s broker

wants him to sell his shares

to stave off further losses.

However, Dazhi insists the

situation is just a technical

glitch and prices will right

themselves. He buys even

more shares.

Yalong applies for long

leave to rest at home. In

truth, he is avoiding Shuqi.

Dazhi pretends to be

concerned.

Chen Feng finds an

excuse to treat Xiaoqiao and

her family to an expensive

lunch. She chides Dazhi and

his wife for letting Lianhua

sleep in the living room and

suggests the old lady move

in with her.

When Xiaoqiao refuses

and argues, Chen Feng

blurts out that she has the

right to interfere as she is

Lianhua’s daughter.

Chen Feng is certain Lianhua

is her birth mother and

lists her reasons. However,

Lianhua refutes every claim

and insists her second

daughter is dead.

Ziyang and Qiyuan

persuade Ruoyun to make

Christmas ornaments for

the hampers. Zhengye

is pleased with what she

produces.

Ruoyun turns up at the

factory to look for Qiyuan

unexpectedly. Qiyuan

fears she might bump into

Zhengye.

Wenjie complains Ziyang

has been neglecting

her because of his work

commitments. He arranges

to see her over the weekend.

Little does he expect to

receive an urgent call, and

he becomes so engrossed

in his work that he forgets

their date.

Chen Feng learns Dazhi

has long known she can’t

be Lianhua’s daughter but

feigned ignorance. She

confronts him.

7.30pm Episode 54/130

Disillusioned, Chen Feng

consoles herself with the

thought that it’s good enough

to have Yalong and her

adoptive parents.

Yalong’s condition shows

no improvement and Chen

Feng is concerned. From

the symptoms, Ziyang

speculates Yalong could

have Asperger’s Syndrome.

Chen Feng asks Ziyang to

help him.

At loggerheads: Staring each other down, Xiaoqiao and Chen

Feng refuse to agree.

Indecent proposals: Xu Tao puts himself at Jingjing’s mercy.
