Haixiu berates Shimei for
scratching Yiyuan’s car.
Shimei retorts that Yiyuan
looks down on them. Haixiu
apologises to Yiyuan and
offers to pay for the repairs.
Anxious about the repair
costs, Haixiu becomes
distracted and accidentally
cuts her hand. Yuzhen tends
to her and teases her. Angry
at their friendly exchange,
Yiyuan quarrels with him.
To earn more money,
Yuzhen volunteers to do
more night shifts. Xiuzi asks
Haixiu to pass him some
food and clothing.Yiyuan realises Yuzhen’s
father is a security guard in
her company. Wancai feels
flattered when she suddenly
becomes friendly and buys
him sushi.
Haixiu receives Yiyuan’s
bill and is shocked that the
repairs cost 2.5 million won.
Haixiu tells Yiyuan the
scratch on her car could have
easily been fixed by a new
coat of paint and shouldn’t
have cost so much. Yiyuan
points out that she should
just beg for forgiveness if she
doesn’t have the money to
pay her. Haixiu has no choice
but to do so.
Yuncan tells Taizhen he
is serious about dating
Xizhen. Taizhen lists
conditions Yuncan has to
fulfil for him to agree to
their relationship. He also
wants Yuncan to share the
housework.
While drunk, Haixiu blurts
out that she gave up her
dignity for 2.5 million won.
She tells Yuzhen not to
kneel before anyone in the
future although he has done
so for the love of Yiyuan.
Xizhen overhears, and
assumes Yuzhen has
proposed to Yiyuan. She
tells Xiuzi excitedly, and
suggests Xiuzi visit Yiyuan’s
mother to pave the way for
Yuzhen.Shimei finds the repair
bill in Haixiu’s wallet and
goes to see Yiyuan. She
apologises, and promises
to atone for her deeds by
working at Yiyuan’s office.
Yiyuan agrees.
Xizhen buys a nice dress
for Xiuzi for her meeting with
Yiyuan’s mother. Rongxin
is unhappy Xiuzi gets a
new dress while the others
have to tighten their belts.
Xizhen retorts that they are
in the current predicament
because Rongxin allowed
Ailan to take the 100 million
won cheque.
Ailan panics when she
learns her house is being
auctioned. Haocai asserts
that she can move into
Wancai’s house or go back to
her parents’ place.
Zhengshu decides to
participate in an auction
and buy a new house for
Yuncan to live in after his
marriage.
Yuncan texts Xizhen and
asks if a house in Gangnam
is good enough. She is
ecstatic.
Xiuzi meets with Yiyuan’s
mother. She promises to
pay the money back within
a week. Yiyuan’s mother
suggests sending Yuzhen
overseas to study for a year
or two, and she will foot all
the expenses.TUE NOV 7

Haixiu signs a contract with
Yiyuan, agreeing to allow her
siblings to be in an ad for
One’s. Shimei tells Haixiu
happily that she will buy
something for her once she
receives the renumeration.
Xiuzi tells Yuzhen about
Yiyuan’s mother’s offer. He
is certain Yiyuan’s mother’s
real motive is to get him and
Yiyuan to break up.
Zhengshu is satisfied
with Haocai’s house. She
decides to buy it.
The ad is published.
Shimei and the children are
portrayed as hungry kids
seeking help from One’s. The
children are shown crying
bitterly as their classmates
call them beggars. Shimei is
infuriated.
Yuzhen, too, fumes at the
ad.
Haixiu confronts Yiyuan,
who says airily that Haixiu
should admit she is poor,
so as to be eligible for
assistance. Haixiu declares
angrily that poor people have
their dignity.
Yuzhen demands
Yiyuan withdraw the ad and
apologise to the children.
She refuses, and claims
she is helping the children
receive aid. Disappointed, he
refuses to see her until she
apologises.
Xizhen learns from her
colleagues that Yiyuan’s
mother and Xiuzi are from
the same hometown. Xiuzi
doesn’t remember her.
Wancai learns Yiyuan is
the daughter of the chairman
of One’s. He realises she
has been treating him nicely
because she knows he is
Yuzhen’s father.
Wancai overhears
Yiyuan arguing with her
mother about the hospital
investment. Yiyuan’s mother
instructs him to press the
lift button for her. She then
complains he is too old
for the job, and a younger
person should be hired.98
