Security (M18)
Starring Antonio Banderas, Ben Kingsley | Directed by Alain
Desrochers | On Netflix
Antonio Banderas is a burnt-out war vet-turned-lowly
security guard who’s protecting a mob trial witness
(Katherine de la Rocha) hiding in the mall from Sir
Ben Kingsley’s flamboyant baddie and his band of
mercenaries. If Die Hard, Dawn of the Dead and Paul
Blart: Mall Cop had a baby, it would be this siege thriller
that harks back to the good old days of the one-man
army genre.

Oversize Cops(PG)
Starring Natjaree Horvejjul,
Sarun Shinsuwapala,
Somyos Matures | Directed
by Phuwanit Pholdee &
Chanon Yingyong
Thai comedy about
four out-of-shape cops
whose jobs are on the
line if they don’t lose
weight. Wait, how did
they even get hired in
the first place? Care to
explain, HR? Exclusive
at Filmgarde cineplexes.

Wheelman(R21)
Starring Frank Grillo, Garret Dillahunt | Directed by Jeremy Rush |
On Netflix
Wolf Warrior II villain Frank Grillo plays a getaway
driver who has no one but a stranger’s disembodied
voice (a la Phone Booth) over his phone to guide him
after a bank heist goes south. But there’s a problem:
the caller isn’t who he claims he is. Wheelman is no
Baby Driver, but it’s lean and fast-paced, except in
the home stretch where it loses some of that early
momentum.

My Little Pony: The
Movie (TBA)
Starring the voices of Emily
Blunt, Kristin Chenoweth |
Directed by Jayson Thiessen
The big screen animated
adventure based on the
iconic line of Hasbro
toys, with the magical
ponies taking on dark
forces threatening their
homeland. Not sure
if adults would like it,
but their kids might...
maybe?

A Bad Moms
Christmas (TBA)
Starring Mila Kunis, Kristen
Bell, Kathryn Hahn | Directed
by Jon Lucas & Scott Moore
The first movie was a hit,
so the studio assumed
a sequel is in order. This
time, the overburdened
mothers celebrate the
holiday season with their
mums. Sorry, no review
due to an embargo.
(Pssst, that’s not a good
sign.)
