Singapore Writers
Festival
The much-anticipated literary festival returns
to present the world’s major literary talents to
Singaporeans, while shining the spotlight on
homegrown and other Southeast Asian creative
talents. This year’s fest is themed ‘Aram’, which
means ‘Doing Good’ in Hindi. There will be panel
discussions, workshops and screenings. The line-up
includes the Artist in Words Exhibition that will bring
you on a journey through the poetry of Anne Lee Tzu
Pheng; ‘In Celebration of Oddballs’, a storytelling
session by British author Philip Ardagh, and the
screening of City of Ghosts. Organised by the
National Arts Council.

Museum Collection.

Abode of Peace and
the Lion City: A Brunei-
Singapore Exhibition.
This exhibition celebrates
the close friendship and
diplomatic relationship
between Singapore and
Brunei, commemorating
the 50th anniversary
of the unique currency
interchangeability
agreement. Learn about
the close links between
Singapore and Brunei and
uncover the treasures of
the Brunei Sultanate, one
of the oldest unbroken
reigning dynasties in the
world.

Circus! Science
Under The Big Top
This exhibition offers a

hands-on experience
for visitors to learn how
science has always
had an important role
to play in the circus.
Learn the science by
performing, examining
and watching the art in
interactive highlights
like Contortionist, which
explores the art of getting
into small spaces, and
Elastic Acrobatics, where
visitors can perform tricks
in mid-air.

Golden Autumn
Celebrations
A festival celebrating
traditional lantern culture
and the beauty of modern
light, featuring structures,
handicraft artisans,
performers and food
vendors from Chengdu.

fire-breathing puppets,
and martial art displays by
Shaolin monks.

Singapore River Festival


2017
Themed ‘Turn Up the River’, the annual festival offers
a fun experience at the three quays: Boat Quay, Clarke
Quay and Robertson Quay, each coupled with a different
vibe and range of activities. Highlights include The
Regatta Rumble, a dragon boat night race at Boat Quay,
the LIT UP Party at Clarke Quay, the Skylight Spectacular,
a LED kite display which will see 20 LED kites
illuminating the Clarke Quay night sky, and the Trivia
Zone along Robertson Walk.
