Criminal Minds alum Shemar Moore is back in law
enforcement! This reboot of a 1970s cop drama, which later
spawned the 2003 movie starring Samuel L Jackson, centres
on the S.W.A.T. (Special Weapons and Tactics) team of the Los
Angeles Police Department, led by Moore’s Sgt Daniel ‘Hondo’
Harrelson. This isn’t just a cash-in on a cherished property
dusted off the nostalgia rack. Moore, who’s also the producer
alongside Fast & Furious director Justin Lin and The Shield
creator Shawn Ryan, said S.W.A.T. 2.0 will take on the Trump
years and the Black Lives Matter movement. “Looking at the
news,” Moore explained, “We’re seeing S.W.A.T. stories all over
the world. Hopefully, we’re going to show you both sides of
the conversation: [the guys in] blue, civilians, both sides of
the argument. Maybe not fixing it, but bridging the gap.” Also
