WHO’S MOVING WHERE...
STANDARD CHARTERED has named Ben Hung,
chief executive for the Greater China and North
Asia region, to the additional role of global retail
banking chief, effective November 30.
Current retail banking CEO and group head for
brand and marketing Karen Fawcett, who joined
StanChart in 2001, will retire at the end of the
year, the bank said last Tuesday.
The bank’s Singapore chief executive Judy Hsu
will take on responsibility for the ASEAN and
South Asia (ASA) region from Anna Marrs in the
fourth quarter of 2018. As a first step, Hsu will
take over responsibility for Malaysia, Thailand
and Vietnam, and join the group management
team, both with immediate effect.
Marrs will remain CEO of commercial banking,
private banking and wealth management, as
well as ASA CEO. Hsu will continue reporting to
her in relation to her ASA region responsibilities
and will also report to group CEO Bill Winters as
a management team member.
Tracey McDermott, group head for corporate,
public and regulatory affairs, will take over
responsibility for brand and marketing.
Veteran loan banker Benjamin Wong has left
CATHAY UNITED BANK after just eight months.
