The China Kitchen – Hyatt Regency Delhi has
been a Delhi institution for some time and a
personal favourite of mine. Its champagne
Sunday brunch is not just etched on my taste
buds, but also my life. It’s the venue I first
dated my wife and first met my mother-in-law
where she had to decide if I was cut from the
right cloth. Fortunately, I made that cut and
have been celebrating Valentine’s Day and
wedding anniversaries ever since. With pink
champagne, of course.
SIMON CLAYS
The Park Hyatt Mallorca is a
beautiful and considerately
constructed property,
wedged against a terracotta
hillside that gazes out at
the waters of the island’s
east coast. Styled like a
village from a Giorgio de
Chirico dream, the hotel, a
retreat situated in a tranquil
valley surrounded by a
wealth of Mallorcan beauty,
offers everything the
luxury traveller could wish
for. Throw in an A1 tapas
restaurant and access to the
best golf on the island, and
it’s pretty much hard to top.
AND, IT’S A WRAP: The photoshoot at Andaz Delhi
turned out to be a date with Delhi and a celebration of its
evolution over the centuries. A village-style, well-equipped hotel on an
island—truly unforgettable!

The great thing
about an Andaz
hotel—a Hyatt
concept—is how
it can transport
you to another
world from the
moment you step
inside. As such,
Andaz Amsterdam,
Prinsengracht
remains my
favourite in the
world. For some, it’s
like going down a
rabbit hole and into
Alice’s Wonderland;
for others, it is
the discovery of
one of designer
Marcel Wanders’
masterpieces.
You can wander about its dark corridors, red
underground passages, and an edgy Victorian
garden, completely withdrawn into yourself,
discovering the prismatic city through the artist’s
vision and never being disappointed by what you
find around the corner: video installations and
larger-than-life artwork.
The team at Travel+Leisure India and South Asia shares their most glamorous
experiences to complement everything we have covered in the issue.
The only time that I ever felt like I didn’t
know what to expect was at a Hyatt hotel.
