Named after the gorgeous giant green Beech oven
that anchors the open kitchen here. The oven’s heat
setting goes up to 300 degrees Celsius, so it should
be great for getting a char on family-style European
comfort classics like a roasted Half Spring Chicken
($35), spiked with pommery mustard and thyme and
served with tender roasted potatoes. We say “should”
because there isn’t much of a crisp skin on the
tasty bird. We are more impressed by the Lobster
Mac & Cheese ($35), which emerges with a nice
golden crust and a rich lobster flavour, almost like
bisque, thanks to the lobster stock that’s added to
the béchamel (cheese sauce).
