and ultimately, I wish to help
girls get an education, build schools,
hospitals and devote myself to public
service.’
She may have spent most of her
life in the West, but frequent visits
to Pakistan since childhood, played
a part in intertwining Armeena’s
identity with Pakistani culture
without too much confusion, as
is common with Western born
desi’s. Her Pakistani-Canadian
background allows her to resonate
with both Eastern and Western
audiences, making her uniquely
distinct and broadening her
horizons in the industry. Her next
projects reflect her versatility, ‘In
2017, you will see me in a different
avatar in British short film, Achilles
Protocol by Atif Zafar. I will also
be starring alongside Bilal Ashraf
and Humayun Saeed again, as well
as Shaan and Adnan Siddiqui in
Yalghaar, so I’m looking forward to
working with some of the biggest
names in the industry.’
When it comes to fashion,
Armeena is a traditional girl at
heart, but loves the royal look ‘I love
classic shalwar kameez, especially
patialas and I love the dupatta,

which seems to be a lost item these
days. It’s such an elegant accessory
and symbolises so much. The bridal
dresses for today’s shoot are so regal
and beautiful, I feel like a princess!.’
In Janaan, her character Meena is
prompted by family to meet suitors,
unlike Armeena’s reality, ‘I’m
married to my career at the moment,
and luckily, my parents have always

supported me, allowing me to be in
charge of my own destiny.’ When
her prince charming does enter her
life, Armeena envisages her ideal
wedding, ‘Small, quiet, private
with my closest family and friends,
possibly a destination wedding,
with lots of flowers. I don’t want an
extravagant wedding, I’d rather help
someone else get married.’

‘Armeena is even more beautiful in person than she is on-screen, so
we are thrilled to have her gracing the pages of Asiana Wedding. She
epitomises the princess-royal look of Sonas Haute Couture collection
so eloquently’ Anisha Vasani
