On Sunday, he said, an angio-

of a small venous tear at the back
of my h ead.”
Van Hollen said he was in-

“out of an abundance of caution”
for the next few days. “I look for-

Senate later this week and thank
the medical team for their excel-

Well wishes poured in for the
63-year-old Democrat, who is up

“Sending all good wishes and
prayers for a continued speedy

inspiring speech at the Western
Maryland Democratic Summit
even as he apparently suffered t his
mild stroke. We’re with you,
Chris!” Raskin wrote on Twitter.
Maryland Gov. L arry Hogan (R)
said on Twitter on Monday morn-

Senator Van Hollen a full and
speedy recovery.”
Van Hollen was elected in 2016
and has s ince taken powerful roles
on the Senate Appropriations
Committee and Senate Banking,
