Alba bags inaugural Bahrain-US


Free Trade Agreement Award


Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba),
the Bahrain-based international
aluminium smelter has been honoured
with the inaugural Bahrain-US Free
Trade Agreement (FTA) Award by Bahrain’s Economic
Development Board (EDB) in cooperation with the American
Chamber of Commerce and the US Bahrain Business
Council, during the reception organized in Washington, D.C.,
USA.

Tim Murray, Chief Executive Officer of Alba, along with
Shawqi Al Hashmi, Director of Line 6 Smelter Project and
Engineering, received the Bahrain-US Free Trade Agreement
(FTA) Award.
The Kingdom of Bahrain’s Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme
Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister His Royal
Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa graced this
special reception, which was attended by Bahraini and American
officials.

Speaking on this accolade, Tim Murray said, “We greatly
appreciate the Leadership of the Kingdom of Bahrain for their
unwavering commitment towards nurturing bilateral trade ties
that will boost the Kingdom’s economic progress. Alba is truly
proud to be the recipient of the inaugural Bahrain-US FTA
Award at this historical event, which recognizes the efforts of the
Kingdom of Bahrain towards bolstering US-Bahrain business
t i e s .”

Bahrain-US FTA Annual Award aims to distinguish the
American and Bahraini companies that are part of the FTA
between the two countries.

Constellium to supply


aluminium solutions for new


Audi A7


Constellium N. V. has
strengthened its long-term
partnership with Audi to
supply aluminium automotive body sheet as well as structural
components for the new Audi A7 Sportback. Produced at the
Audi Neckarsulm, Germany plant, the new Audi A7 represents
Audi’s new design language with particularly dynamic lines and
a sporty character.


Constellium will be the primary supplier of aluminium
automotive body sheet for this new Audi A7 providing the coils
to be used for the outer design applications such as the doors,
hood, fenders and deck lids which incorporate large surfaces,
sharp edges and taut lines. Design and forms are achieved with
Constellium’s Surfalex® with high surface quality and specific
hemming and roping properties, which allow three-dimensional
shapes and is ideally suited for the dynamic body style of this
new model.


Besides, Constellium will also supply aluminium structural
components for the Audi A7, including struts and cross members
from its plant in Gottmadingen. These custom solutions are
designed to meet package space and NVH (Noise, Vibration
and Harshness) requirements, while contributing to the stiffness
of the vehicle.


Dieter Hoell, Director Sales and Marketing, Automotive

in translating their design language for the new generation A7
model with the supply of our special aluminium outer solutions.
This reflects the close collaboration we have with our long-time
customer Audi, and with their Neckarsulm, Germany plant,
