As you descend the stainless steel staircase
into the store, you could be easily excused for
feeling as though you are at a park rather than a
tech store. The space is certainly resplendent in
trees; these catch a lot of natural light through
the glass cube and ceiling windows that Apple
refers to as “lenses”. From the ground, you can
even look through those windows to see what’s
happening in the store below, as revealed in a
recent video tour of the redesigned store.

The surprisingly organic feel of the in-store
experience is doubtless encouraged by the
lights, which change color in reaction to the
time of day as well as how much sunlight
is already streaming through the windows.
These lights have a blue tinge in the morning
but become warmer at night, making them
somewhat akin to the Night Shift and True Tone
display features on recent iPhones and iPads.
The employees, meanwhile, number 900 and
speak over 30 languages.

OTHER ICONIC APPLE STORES
AROUND THE WORLD

Easily appreciable though the various
enhancements to the Fifth Avenue outlet
undoubtedly are, it’s encouraging that many
of the biggest benefits of visiting an Apple
Store are common to plenty of the Cupertino
company’s retail locations around the world.
Many of these stores – which in total, now
number over 500 across 25 countries – are
already sumptuously designed, as attested
by Business Insider, which has posted photos
and a round-up of many of the world’s most
iconic Apple Stores.
