them because they are all great
players – we saw with Roberto
against Sevilla that he can
close his eyes and still score
goals! I am just so happy to play
alongside them.
“People can talk about four
front-players but the players
behind us win the ball for us and
we only try to give assists and
make finishes. That is our job and
we are trying all the time to do
that but it is a team-effort.
“For instance, before he picked
up his injury I had formed a very
good understanding with Alberto
Moreno. We have been training
and playing together now for 18
months and it is always easier
for every forward when you
have good players behind you.”
With such a busy winter
programme, Reds boss Jürgen
Klopp has regularly rotated his
squad to keep them fresh. After
the win at Bournemouth the
boss had made 69 changes to
Liverpool's starting line-up in this
season's Premier League, 15 more
than the whole of last term. That
has meant Mane has sometimes
found himself on the bench in
recent weeks, something he
fully understands given that
schedule which will today see
the Reds play their eleventh
game of the past 38 days.
“It is never easy being on the
bench because I always love
to help the team. At the same
time, we are a team and we are
a group and we have to respect
who is playing on the pitch and
that is what I always do.”
Next on the agenda is today's
game. The Swans may be
struggling at the wrong end of
the table but if Liverpool need
any reminder of the threat
posed by the visitors they
need only look back to the last
meeting of the sides when the
Welsh club triumphed here
by the odd goal in five back in
January.
“All the teams have to be
ready to play in a number of
games at this time of year. We
know it will be a tough match.
They may not have had quite
the start they were hoping for
but they deserve respect and
we will respect them. We will be
doing all we can to win the game,
especially at home with our great
fans behind us.”
The Reds went into last Friday's
game at Arsenal in the top four,
through to the last 16 of the
Champions League and with a
tasty FA Cup third-round derby
date with Everton to look forward
to. So what does the Reds no
believe the team can achieve
this season?
“Everything is possible
because we are a good team
and on our day we can beat
anybody. Everybody is excited
by the games we have coming
up but I think it's still too early
to talk about the season as a
whole, we're only at the halfway
stage. But I believe we have
everything in our squad to be
capable of winning many games
and that is what we'll try to do.”
WE HAVE EVERYTHING
IN OUR SQUAD TO
WIN MANY GAMES
AND THAT IS WHAT
WE WILL TRY TO DO
