Dr. Tae Yun Kim Receives Stevie Award
In New York City on Nov. 17, 2017, Great Grandmaster Dr.
Tae Yun Kim received two coveted International
Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
Dr. Kim kicked off the event, winning
a gold for “Best New Product of the
Year” for Lighthouse Worldwide
Solutions’ ActiveCount 100H
Microbiological Sampler and a
Silver for “Lifetime Achievement.”
As the only recipient to thank God
in her speech, Dr. Kim shared her
excitement by telling everyone, “He
Can Do, She Can Do, Why Not Me!”

USCDKA Celebrates 50 Years
Th e United States Chung Do Kwan Association (USCDKA) led by
Tae Kwon Do pioneer Sr. Grandmaster Brenda J. Sell, (9th dan
Kukkiwon) celebrated its 50th anniversary. Th e USCDKA was
founded in 1967 by the late Sr. Grandmaster Edward B. Sell,
(10th dan Kukkiwon) a Tae Kwon Do legend and pioneer.
Its successful teaching system has impacted the lives
of over 1,000,000 people. Th e USCDKA’s National
Demonstration Team (“Th e Sell Team”) has performed
at West Point Military Academy, USAF Academy,
Pentagon, U.S. military bases, churches, prisons, and schools.

Masters, grandmasters and students from throughout the USA and Canada
attended the 50th anniversary celebrations, which included a National
Training Conference, National Tournament, Hall of Fame, and the
9th dan Kukkiwon testing of Grandmaster Brenda Sell, making
her the only female not of Korean descent to achieve this honor.


GM Sell says, “Th e vision of the USCDKA is to continue the legacy by
spreading the values and benefi ts of Tae Kwon Do through a proven
curriculum, credentials, modern training resources, reputation and
leadership. For our 50th anniversary, we proudly unveiled the updated,
state of the art, interactive, Forces of TaeKwonDo textbook, complete
with audio and video footage. Th is textbook has been a major
infl uence in the martial arts world, and the addition of our online
proshop has helped martial artists progress in excellence. Charter
schools are established through like-minded black belts who
have a passion to make a diff erence in their community.”
