  1. DEVELOP REVENUE MODELS
    Circularity will change revenue models.
Revenue will be earned over time (lease or
    performance models) or through shared
    value creation.

  2. CLOSED-LOOP RECYCLING
The crux of the circular economy is to close
material loops in production processes and
product life cycles. This can be done both
within organizations and among partners in
    the value chain.

  3. STRIVE TO CREATE VALUE
By working according to the principles of the
circular economy, we can create more than
merely financial value; we can also create
    social and ecological value.

CIRCULAR ECONOMY – FROM WORDS TO ACTION!

Early in December, Jan Jonker, professor
of Corporate Sustainability at Radboud
University, gave an inspiring presentation
to a packed auditorium at the CIRCL
pavilion. His talk centred on the question
of how circular business models can be
effectively integrated and implemented
in organizations. In the Netherlands, we
throw out a sum total of 1.4 mattresses a
year, and worldwide we trash 1.4 billion
perfectly functional telephones. And what
to do about the billions of dirty nappies

  1. CHOOSE THE RIGHT STRATEGY
Instead of focusing on the sale of a product,
value creation should centre on delivering
added value over its entire lifespan. Resul-
ting in a longer-term product relationship
    with one or multiple customers.

  2. DESIGN CROSS-
    ORGANIZATIONAL SYSTEMS
The circular economy calls for the organization of
chains and networks in collaboration with with
partners; no company can be circular on its own.

FIVE BUILDING BLOCKS FOR CIRCULAR BUSINESS MODELS:

that wreak havoc on our environment?
These are just three examples of the
hundreds of products that Jonker says we
throw out needlessly. Worldwide, all this
waste has become a massive economic
problem, says Jonker, and it should be
our mission to create a circular economy.
Building that economy will take some
thirty years. A 100% sustainable and
circular world is not feasible, but a few
reasonably simple changes can go a long
way toward greening our planet.

Learn a swimming technique that is efficient, effortless
and kind to your body. Afterwards it feels as if you just
had a massage. Energised instead of exhausted. The
Shaw Method applies the principles of the Alexander
Technique (used by a.o. actors, musicians, athletes and
pilots) to swimming. Develop a beautiful front crawl,

breast stroke or butterfly technique in 6-week courses
for adults. Ideal if you prepare for a triathlon or if you
suffer neck- or back problems. For adults who never
learned to swim there is a ‘Learn-to-Swim’ course, to
first feel comfortable and breath easily under water.
Welcome at Swim in Balance!
