GOLFING

“let us look

forward to a

better year in 2018!”

A resounding battle cry of sorts that I heard at an event
recently, and I have to agree with that statement, 2017
has indeed been a tough year for most. From the general
economy to the greens, 2017 has been pretty lacklustre.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m more than appreciative
of the fact that the powers-that-be have managed
to keep this magazine alive through sheer hard
work and meticulous planning, whilst my peers
had to go through the unfortunate circumstance of
closure or getting laid off due to other reasons.

My visit to the Augusta Masters to celebrate Rolex’s 50th
Anniversary on their involvement in golf, and meeting
legends Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson, was certainly a
major highlight for me as well! But if you have noticed, in
golf, there lacks a certain individual like when Tiger was
at his peak, when he held onto everyone’s attention at
every tournament and whatever he did in his spare time.

In any case, let us all hold onto the hope that 2018
brings along some excitement in the world of golf
from the huge pool of potentials like Rickie Fowler,
Jordan Spieth & gang, as well as some growth and
stability in the world for a better economy.
