It's Liverpool v Everton at
Anfield again – what does the
Merseyside derby mean to
you?
It's definitely a little bit more
special than a normal game
but I think it's important on
the day not to get too excited
and get caught up in the same
emotion as the fans. It's hard not
to, though, because it'll be an
exciting game and hopefully
we'll win it.
You're Liverpool born-and-
bred and live in the city so
what's the build-up to a derby
like for you at home?
At home it's same vibes as
everywhere else, so again you've
got to try not to get too excited
and try not to over-think it so
that, come the day, you can
hopefully get what you need to
get out of the game.
The whole city gets excited
leading up to this game and
it's on everyone's minds. That
makes it a little bit more special
to everyone and especially to
the players who are involved in
the derby.

You've played in derbies for
the Under-18s, Under-23s
and the first-team – how
different is Liverpool v
Everton at this level?
The intensity of the game is a lot
different, a lot higher, and it feels
like there is more expectation on
your shoulders because there
are a lot more fans watching
the game and so many people
watching at home. Half of the
city wants one team to win, half
of the city wants the other team
to win and everyone in the city
watches the derby more than
any other game.
So I think it's important for the
city, but even at Academy level
there's still something special
about derby games and I think
that follows you through to first-
team fixtures as well.
You made your derby debut
in Liverpool's 3-1 win here
at Anfield back in April 2017
when you came on as a sub
for Philippe Coutinho...
