T

he FA Youth Cup tie
between Liverpool Under-
18s and their Arsenal

counterparts will be played at

Anfield on Saturday 20 January.

Coach Steven Gerrard’s side

set up a fourth-round meeting

with the Gunners courtesy of a

5-1 success against Hartlepool

United in round three, a game

which saw striker Liam Millar hit

a hat-trick.

The young Reds now have

the opportunity to play at the

first-team stadium for the one-

off tie against Arsenal which will

kick-off at 3pm. The U18s Premier

League clash with Newcastle

United, originally scheduled

for the same date, has been

switched to Saturday 31 March.

Meanwhile, young Reds

defender Adam Lewis has

committed his future to the club

by signing a new professional

contract at the Academy. The

18-year-old, who has captained

Gerrard’s side in recent weeks

in the absence of injured

centre-back Liam Coyle, penned

an extension to continue an

affiliation with the Reds that

began at Under-Six level.

Adam has been a regular at

left-back this season as the U18s

have navigated the first half of

the league campaign without

defeat. They currently hold a

one-point lead at the top of the

table. He also played five times

and scored once as Liverpool’s

youngsters secured qualification

from the group stage of the UEFA

Youth League with a series of

commanding performances.

The U23s and U18s both

play their first games of 2018

this weekend. The latter visit

Blackburn Rovers for a league

clash tomorrow morning (11am)

while Neil Critchley's 23s, who

began the year five points clear

Gerrard's team to take on

Arsenal here in FA Youth Cup

fourth-round encounter

at the top of the table, host
Arsenal in a Premier League clash
on Sunday at Tranmere Rovers'
Prenton Park (1pm).
It begins a run of three big
games for the U23s during
January. They then meet
Charlton Athletic in the U23s
Premier League Cup at the
Swansway Chester Stadium
(home of Chester FC) on Sunday
21 January (1pm) before ending
the month with another Premier
League 2 encounter against

Derby County at Prenton Park on
Sunday 28 January (also 1pm).
Tickets for each of the three
U23s games are free for season-
ticket holders and LFC Members
simply by showing your card,
otherwise entry is available at
the gate at £3 for adults and
£1 for children.
