SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC IN CHINA We have grown
signifi cantly in China over
the past 30 years. In 1987,
Schneider Electric founded
its fi rst Moint-venture factory
in China – Tianjin Merlin
Gerin. From then on,
we began to understand
the Chinese market,
and we also introduced
the breaker technology
into China, instead of
the traditional fuse, thus
improving the electricity
safety for Chinese users
greatly. We also made
outstanding contributions
to the establishment of
the breaker standard.
Schneider Electric established a global R&D center in China, and
global technology was transferred to China. We also began to set
up a batch of joint ventures and investments to establish factories
in different regions, and in various forms. Beyond the year 2000,
we entered the stage of investment and commitment. The role of
Schneider Electric China changed from a production base client
with China’s original products, business model, and solutions, and
even bring about signifi cant interests to the world. Our business
network gradually extended to the whole of China, including:
26,000 employees, 1 Headquarter in Beijing, 5 branches, 40
Regional Offi ces, network of more than 00 distributors nationwide,
26 production facilities, 8 distribution centers and 3 R&D centers.

footprint across China, which follows the development trend of
