I wanteda simple,cleanphotographthatwasallaboutthelightratherthanthe
crowds,soI usedmycircularpolariserandtheBigStopper.Reducingthelight
reachingmysensorby 12 stops,thefiltersallowedmetokeepthe shutter open
for 2 minutes, which was enough to make everyone disappear!
Ialsouseda 0.6hardgrad.Peopleusuallytalkaboutgradsasbeingusefulfor
balancingexposurebutI thinkthat’sjustthestartingpointandtheygetreally
interestingwhenseenasmoreofa creativetool.Thedynamicrangeinthisscene
didn’trequirea grad,butI usedoneanywaytoaccentuatethecontrastbetween
